What began as a single teacher’s vision has grown into a thriving community.
When Marina Seevak founded The Beautiful Stuff Project, she started by collecting scrap materials from local businesses and sharing them with educators. What others saw as junk, teachers saw as treasure.
Today, our work spans classrooms in Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, and beyond. We’ve partnered with public schools, early learning centers, and after school programs to share our treasure boxes and hands-on experiences to thousands of children.
Here’s how the model works:
– Local businesses donate safe, clean materials
– We sort and repurpose them into Treasure Boxes
– Teachers bring them into classrooms to spark exploration
– Children build confidence, curiosity, and joy
Our impact lives in the small moments: A child choosing to try again. A teacher saying, “This brings joy back to my classroom.”
Thank you to our community of makers, donors, educators, and families. You are the heart of this work.
